If you’ve been to Soestdijk Palace and would like to round off your day in regal fashion, the Grand Café Soestdijk opposite is a fine place to raise a glass. It’s a favourite spot to take a break among palace visitors as well as passing cyclists and walkers.
With Soestdijk Palace next door, the bar is set quite high, and Grand Café Soestdijk certainly rises to the challenge. Enjoy an excellent glass of wine fit for a king on the sun-drenched terrace or find a table inside this stately building. The café’s location along various cycling and walking routes makes it a popular place to stop for a coffee and apple pie with whipped cream or a filling lunch. You can dine there too. Feel free to take your little princes and princesses along with you!
Nice to know!
Grand Café Soest dates back to 1907 and is a registered monument. The building is named after Soestdijk Palace which stands opposite. The first owner - and its builder - was a baker. This Jugendstil building was later turned into a home and after the war it housed a mushroom farm.
