Historic Highlight

The children probably won’t argue when you tell them you’re going to the Pyramid of Austerlitz.

Because in addition to a piece of national history, the merry-go-round and the bumper cars will ensure hours of fun.

“Children can play to their heart’s content in the bumper cars, the swing carousel, the carousel and other rides. The afternoon simply flies by.”

The Pyramid of Austerlitz is the highlight of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and was built in 1804 to honour Napoleon Bonaparte. You can have a drink on the patio at the foot of the pyramid, while the kids have a great time in the arcade. From the bumper cars to the swing carousel back to the bumper cars. They’ll certainly be able to spend an afternoon here. There’s also a playground for the very youngest.

Hey, did you know?

The pyramid owes its name to Louis Napoleon, the brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. He named the monument the Pyramid of Austerlitz, after the battle in what is now the Czech Republic.
