Hip industrial hangout

Khotinsky falls into the category of ‘absolutely do not to miss’. It is a grand café, bar and bistro in the former Energiehuis (Powerhouse) and the place for Dordrecht’s hip locals to enjoy a G&T, glass of wine or beer after work.

“Khotinsky is the hip hangout where Dordrecht folk go to for a drink or a meal.”

Industrial racking, olive trees, high ceilings, unpainted walls, a central bar: clearly, you are in one of Dordrecht’s trendiest hot spots. The building used to house the municipal power plant, but these days the ‘Energiehuis’ houses a number of different businesses. Khotinsky is one of them. Dordrecht’s locals mainly meet up here in the evenings or come and ease their hangovers with an extensive Sunday brunch.

Nice to know!

Khotinsky owes its name to the Russian inventor Achilles de Khotinsky, who brought the first incandescent lamp to the Netherlands. If you look around, you will see images of his lightbulb throughout the interior.
