Admire Outdoor Sculptures

There’s no need to go inside to see art in Rotterdam. There are also plenty of beautiful works of art to be admired on the street. For instance, walk by the stately Westersingel, where you’ll pass 17 sculptures. L’Homme qui Marche by French artist Auguste Rodin and Pablo Picasso’s Sylvette are famous.

“There’s no need to go inside to see art in Rotterdam. There are also plenty of beautiful works of art to be admired outside, for instance along the Sculpture Route Westersingel.”

The sculptures you’ll see on the Westersingel belong to the international collection of Sculpture International Rotterdam. This so-called Sculpture Route Westersingel connects China Town to the Museumpark, where you can find famous museums such as Boijmans Van Beuningen and the Kunsthal. At the Rotterdam Tourist Information on Rotterdam central train station or the Coolsingel, you can find more information on the sculptures.

Nice to know!

Santa Claus, the huge work of art by Paul McCarthy on the Eendrachtsplein is often colloquially referred as the ‘Butt Plug Gnome’ by Rotterdammers.
